The poems talked about loss, love, absences and distances. I decided to focussed on the balloons as objects to serve as metaphors. Click on the image to see them all in the Portfolio.

Los poemas hablan de pérdida, amor, ausencias y distancias. Decidí centrarme en el objeto de los globos para que que sirvieran como metáforas. During this year’s Open Up I will be opening my studio for five days to the public where a selection of my drawings will be available for sale.

My studio is situated at Bloc studio complex and gallery. And the dates and times to visit are:

26th & 27th of April 12 to 5pm
3rd, 4th & 5th of May, 12 to 5pm

“Anatomía Poética” (Poetic anatomy) is a book of poems by Carolina Cerrato Canales. She studied medicine in Santander (Spain) and is a very good friend of mine, who I hope to do more projects with in the future, she is a great writer and photographer.

The book is divided in four sections, for each one I produced an illustration, based on the idea of a scientific imagery but still with the hand-drawn touch of the charcoal…

Polltaloch House I, 2005 (85 x 110 cms, colour pencil on wood)

During 2004 I spend a few months in Scotland and a couple of projects came out of this journey. This paintings are one of them. During my time there I took many pictures and when back home I started almost obsesively to go back to them, to draw them, paint them…
